Refund & Cancellation Policy
We want you to be happy with Joysts. This policy explains our 14-day money-back guarantee, how cancellations work, and how refunds are handled through Paddle.com Market Ltd, our Merchant of Record.
1.Overview
Joysts offers a free plan so you can try the product before you pay. When you subscribe to Joysts Complete ($12/month or $99/year), the following refund and cancellation terms apply. This policy forms part of our Terms of Service.
In short: new Complete subscribers can request a full refund within 14 days of their first payment. After that, you can cancel anytime to stop future renewals and keep access until the end of your paid period; partial periods are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.
2.Who processes payments
Your subscription is sold and processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd(“Paddle”), our Merchant of Record. Paddle handles billing, invoicing, tax, and refunds on our behalf, and refunds are issued by Paddle to your original payment method. Your purchase is also subject to Paddle's Checkout & Buyer Terms. We work with Paddle to review and approve eligible refund requests under this policy.
3.14-day money-back guarantee
If you are a first-time subscriber to Joysts Complete and you're not satisfied, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase — for any reason. This applies to your first subscription payment on either the monthly or annual plan.
The guarantee does not apply to:
- Renewal payments (after your first billing period);
- Accounts we suspend or terminate for a breach of our Terms; or
- Repeated sign-up/refund cycles that appear to abuse the guarantee.
4.Monthly & annual plans
Monthly
You can cancel a monthly subscription at any time. Cancellation stops the next renewal; you keep Complete access until the end of the current month you've paid for. Beyond the 14-day guarantee, monthly payments already made are non-refundable.
Annual
Annual plans are eligible for the 14-day money-back guarantee above. After 14 days, your annual subscription is non-refundable for the remainder of the term, but you can cancel to prevent auto-renewal — you keep Complete access until the end of the year you've paid for. Where a refund is legally required, or granted at our discretion, it may be prorated for the unused portion.
5.Additional properties
Additional properties ($29per property per year) are add-ons to your subscription. The 14-day guarantee applies to a newly added property from its purchase date. Once you've actively used an added property (for example, by adding its address, pulling records, or uploading documents) beyond the guarantee window, the add-on is non-refundable for that term, though you can remove it to stop future renewal.
6.How to cancel
You can cancel yourself in under a minute:
- Sign in to Joysts and go to Settings → Manage subscription.
- This opens your secure billing portal, where you can cancel or change your plan.
- You'll receive email confirmation, and your account moves to the Free plan at the end of the paid period.
Cancelling does not delete your home record — your data stays with you on the Free plan. If you also want to delete your data, use Settings → Delete account (see our Privacy Policy).
7.How to request a refund
To request a refund under this policy:
- Email billing@joysts.com from the address on your account, with the date of purchase and, if possible, the order or receipt number from your Paddle email; or
- Use the “Contact” or refund link in the purchase receipt that Paddle emailed you, which routes to Paddle's buyer support.
We aim to acknowledge refund requests within 2 business days. Approved refunds are then processed by Paddle.
8.Refund method & timing
Approved refunds are issued by Paddle.com Market Ltd to your original payment method. Once processed, funds typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or card issuer. Any taxes collected are refunded in accordance with applicable law. We are unable to refund to a different payment method or account.
9.Duplicate & erroneous charges
If you believe you were charged in error, charged twice, or charged after a valid cancellation, contact billing@joysts.com right away. We will investigate and, where a billing error occurred, arrange a full refund of the incorrect charge. Please reach out to us before initiating a chargeback so we can resolve it quickly.
10.Price changes
If we change subscription pricing, we will give you advance notice, and the new price applies from your next renewal. You can cancel before a price change takes effect if you do not wish to continue. See Terms of Service for details.
11.Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any non-waivable refund or cancellation rights you may have under the consumer laws of your country or state. Where mandatory local law gives you stronger rights than this policy, those rights apply.
